Menpora: Youth Must Improve Ability to Face Global Competition

Youth and Sports Minister (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo says Indonesian youth must improve their abilities in the midst of global competition.

They must focus on hard skilling, reskilling, and upskilling

The statement above was made at the ASEAN+Youth Summit 2023 at the MNC Tower Building, Jalan Kebon Sirih, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

"They must focus on hard skilling, reskilling, and upskilling to ensure that our young generation is ready to bring Indonesia and ASEAN to a higher level," he expressed, Thursday (9/7).

He also encouraged Indonesian youth to prepare themselves to compete in the global world by having self-confidence and thinking forward.

"What is certain is that access to education and the world of work must be prepared to build young people's self-confidence," he expressed.

He hoped that they would have the opportunity to strengthen friendship ties with 11 other ASEAN countries.

"We ask that this forum create a formulation and joint agreement on what ASEAN youth will contribute to the future," he explained.

According to him, those who attended this event were leaders from various countries, so future discussions and contributions would be a long-term social investment.

An invited guest and influencer, Rezky Cahyana, said the same thing. According to him, youth must be able to compete in the global world and show that ASEAN is a potential country for development.

"Moreover, we have many young people with their demographic and we have to learn a lot and open ourselves to change," he uttered.

Thereby, they must jointly improve self-capacity, introspection and networking in order to improve soft skills and hard skills.

"We are the next future of ASEAN. Let's get spirited together," he asserted.
