Central Jakarta Residents Urged to Switch to Electric Motorbikes

Central Jakarta mayor, Dhany Sukma, encouraged his residents in Central Jakarta to start switching to using electric motorbikes.

Come on, let's all switch to electric-based vehicles

The statement above was made when he tested driving an electric motorbike around his office yard.

“I was testing to drive an electric motorbike. The sound is smooth and the speed is not inferior to petrol motorbikes," he expressed, Tuesday (9/12).

According to him, the use of electric motorbikes is an alternative to reduce gas emissions which can cause pollutants.

“We have started switching to electric fuel. Come on, let's all switch to electric-based vehicles," he explained.

He went on to say that another no less important solution to reduce pollutants was switching to public transportation. Moreover, nowadays many public transportations already drive electricity as fuel.

"According to the Jakarta administration's policy, every employee is urged to drive an electric motorbike," he continued.

Thus far, there are a total of six electric motorbikes in his office. Employees can own these electric motorbikes by purchasing cash or credit.

"For those who are interested, you can buy and test drive the motorbike directly here. "For credit, you can apply it to Bank DKI," he stated.
