I appreciate that he is concerned with the East-West MRT

Transportation Minister, Budi Karya Sumadi explained that Jakarta is a role model for other cities and transportation has an important role. That's why they discussed a lot about mass transit.

He also appreciated Heru who was concerned with the construction of rail-based mass transportation such as the MRT and LRT.

“The MRT is already in Phase I and II. I appreciate that he is concerned with the East-West MRT, even Phase III to Ancol. Most encouragingly, MRT investors are not only Japanese but there are Korean and British investors. That's why we hope that in the G20 activities, we will carry out an MoU with the three countries," he explained.

He asked for the synchronization of mass transportation or the integration of transportation modes between the central government and the Jakarta Government to be well coordinated.

"We have the LRT MRT which will be completed in June 2023. Jakarta has buses, of course, we have to synchronize mass transportation there. We have assigned our friends to coordinate immediately thus everything can run well," he added.

In other discussions related to Electric Vehicles (EV) that became the President's concern, this EV is a must.

He assessed that using EVs has many advantages such as fuel economy and environmental friendliness. The Jakarta Government was asked to add charging systems or Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) in many places, thus most people's interest in using motorbikes or electric cars.

"I propose adding vertical parking to him, especially in Tanah Abang, Manggarai, and several places that will provide a good carrying capacity," he explained.

Even, the Acting Governor was ready to follow up on discussion points such as providing vertical parking in Tanah Abang and Manggarai. As for SPKLU, it will be discussed discussing the obligations of office buildings or companies that must have SPKLU.

"Later on, the latest licensing discussion, every building is prepared to have a charging station, so we don't incur costs," he furthered.

Related to LRT and MRT, the Jakarta Government would synchronize financing in the 2023 City Budget (APBD). He also continues to communicate with the ranks of the Transportation Ministry regarding the development of mass transportation in Jakarta.

“There is still a lot of homework that I need to follow up on from the Minister and it won't be a problem. It's just a matter of stages, the priority is first," he stated,
