Pump Houses will Be Designed in Kelapa Gading

In order to anticipate flood which often hit Kelapa gading area, especially in rainy season, a number of pump houses need to be built.

Geographically, the Kelapa Gading Sub-District is passed by three rivers. They are Sunter, Cakung Lama, and Betik, causing the area inevitable from flood.

Although there are three reservoirs, but they cannot accommodate the water maximally. They consist of Don Bosco (8 hectares wide), Kodamar (8 hectare), and Summarecon (7 hectare).

Kelapa Gading Sub-District Head, Musa Syafruddin stated in accordance with public proposal, there are some locations that would be made as a pump house, namely Sunter Riverbank near Mol, Artha Gading connecting channel, and BGR Raya connecting channel.

“We also hope a waterway could also be built on Jalan Boulevard Barat. Besides that, residents also recommend normalization and refunction of Cakung Lama River,” he uttered (3/20).

He acknowledged, the proposal had been sent to related units for further action.
