Use of Grant Fund for KONI Monitored Strictly

Due to an increase in the fund for the Jakarta National Sports Committee (KONI) each year, Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) is going to tighten its use supervision.

Last year, the fund was more than Rp 300 billion and nearly reached half trillion for this year. That's why, its supervision must be tightened

"Last year, the fund was more than Rp 300 billion and nearly reached half trillion for this year. That's why, its supervision must be tightened," said Jakarta Legislative Council Head, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, at City Hall, Friday (3/20).

Marsudi disclosed, the KONI always receives a sizable grant each year. "But if it is not managed well, the deviation will happen. We need to monitor it," he continued.

Jakarta KONI Hoped to Improve Athlete's Performance

To prevent deviation, the man who also becomes a KONI adviser will ask for responsibility to KONI Head, moreover there would be the Extraordinary Provincial Conference for new head election, which falls on March 28.

"We will make it transparently thus athlete can also know. The financial audits will also be conducted. If there is any deviation, we will report it to the authorities,” he asserted.

He stressed, such grant fund is the people's money. Thus it should be transferred to all sports. Yet, the amount that received is varied in accordance with the priorities, among them are badminton, football, and weightlifting.

"Moreover, the West Java National Games (PON) is getting closer. We have to be stricter in monitoring and not let this people's money to be corrupted," he disclosed.
