Local Government & Army to Clean Ciliwung This Sunday

2015, the ranks of South Jakarta Administration, army, police and Ciliwung
River lovers’ community that incorporated in the Clean Ciliwung Movement (GCB)
will clean up the Ciliwung River on Sunday (3/22).

As planned, Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok)
and Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya Bakar will attend the
activity.
Secretary of Pasar Minggu Sub-District, Satia said as many
as 500 volunteers will participate in the activity from Tanjung Barat until
Pejaten Timur. Additionally, 10,000 fish seeds will also be released.
She stated, such activity is a routine activity from local
government, army, and police that has been ongoing since 2014. “The result
already shown. Ciliwung River is getting clean now than before,” she disclosed.
He added it also aims to educate people not to throw trash
into the river. “Ciliwung River is clean now, because people feel embarrassed
to throw trash into the river," he finished.
