Acting Governor Heru Inaugurates DTKJ Members

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, inaugurated 19 members of the Jakarta City Transportation Council (DTKJ) for the 2023-2026 period at Balairung Great Hall, City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday (9/25).

To improve Jakarta's transportation work as a whole

This inauguration is based on Governor Decree No. 541/2023 on Appointments of the Jakarta Transportation Council for the 2023-2026 Period.

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head, Syafrin Liputo said the inauguration could be a new chapter for Jakarta to parse congestion and optimize the use of public transportation.

"So, these fellow DTKJ members have been working since April and their work period will end in March 2026. Hopefully, after this inauguration, DTJK can give suggestions and input to the Jakarta Provincial Government to improve Jakarta's transportation work as a whole," he expressed, in the Jakarta Government's press release.

The elected DTKJ Chairman, Haris Muhammadun explained that DTKJ members consisting of various elements of society are expected to be able to synergize and work for the next three years.

"There are 19 of us. There are elements of academics, transportation experts, transportation entrepreneurs, transportation Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), transportation users, transportation crew, and ex-officio from Polda Metro Jaya, as well as Dishub. We want to synergize and collaborate to make Jakarta's transportation better, like the slogan Jakarta's Success for Indonesia," he explained.

According to him, DTKJ was focused on various strategic steps to reduce the impact of Jakarta's traffic jams. Among them were the focus on expanding the scope of public transportation routes, recommendations for Transjakarta tariff policies for Kalideres Bus Terminal route to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, and recommendations for WFH and WFO policies for residents who work in Jakarta.

"First, the time for resetting working hours, which in the end we evaluated, and it turned out to be just an advisory. The best thing is how we expand the reach of public transportation," he explained.

Aside that, DTKJ is also focusing on assisting with the plan to build the LRT Jakarta route 1B Velodrome-Manggarai.

"We do assistance, thus the plan and the community's wishes or needs match. There is one of the community's wishes, such as an extension (LRT Velodrome track) to Dukuh Atas. Our R&D Commission is currently conducting a study together with other stakeholders," he stated.
