Want to Perform at Seribu Islands Band Music Festival? Here's How to Register

The Seribu Islands Culture Sub-agency is about to hold the Band Music Festival 2023 on Pramuka Island, which falls on November 8. Registration for the competition is open from October 8 to 27, 2023.

increasing the ability and mastery of musical techniques of the young generation and a forum for channeling residents' talents.

"Thus far, we always invite bands from the mainland. Meanwhile, many of the young generation on the island are also interested in the art of music," he said, Wednesday (10/11).

He explained band participants who take part in this competition could perform music, both traditional and modern.

The requirements that must be met are participant must be a resident with a Seribu Islands ID card, the maximum number of participants in one band is eight, and must be aged 13-40 years old.

"Ahead of the competition, they are required to attend a briefing on October 30," he explained.

Regarding the material for this competition, they are required to perform two songs consisting of one national anthem song with the theme of struggle and one song of choice.

Especially for song, they can choose songs written by Ismail Marzuki entitled Kopral Jono, Juwita Malam and Ibu Pertiwi or the song Pulau Seribu from Tony Q Rastafara.

"They can also perform a song of their own choice and are required to submit the lyrics of the song to the organizing committee during the technical meeting," he explained.

He added they would be given excess facilities such as standard band musical instruments such as two electric guitars, one electric acoustic guitar, one keyboard, one bass and one drum set. Then, they would also get transportation facilities in the form of one boat in each urban village.

In this event, his party prepared prizes for the first winner amounting to Rp 12.5 million, second place Rp 10 million and third place Rp 8.5 million. It is planned to be handed over at the Seribu Islands' anniversary.
