Dozens of Buildings in Penjaringan Demolished

North Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Iyan Sophian Hadi deployed 100 personnel cooperated with Army/Police demolished as much as 60 buildings which constructed above Gendong river channel, Pluit dam at RT 20/17, Penjaringan, North Jakarta.

Today we demolished 60 buildings. Previously on Sunday (3/22), half of it already been demolished

The demolishment was aimed to re-function river. The activity is expected done within 6 months later.

“Totally there are 100 buildings. Today we demolished 60 buildings. Previously on Sunday (3/22), 40 of them have been demolished,” hadi said, Monday (3/22),” Hadi said, Monday (3/22).

Disposal Site Threatened to Be Demolished

Penjaringan Sub-Distrrict Head, Yani Wahyu Purwoko expressed the building owned by residents will be recorded. For the owners who fulfill the provision are going to relocate to flat, while others will be assisted to move.

“Due to in Muara Baru flat is already fully occupied, they are temporary accommodated on the ground floor. Later, they are going to move to the unit if the building had already prepared,” Purwoko expressed.

Jakarta River and Dam Normalization Executor, Heriyanto estimated re-function of Gendong river Pluit dam process will be held over 6 months ahead. Later, the 12 meters wide with 2.5 km length river which connects Pakin River to Pump House of Pluit Dam will be re-functioned.

“We will restore as its function. As much as 2,000 buildings have clogged the river, consequently water can not flow smoothly. Hopefully the project could be finished within 6 months,” he disclosed.
