The Seribu Islands Regency administration together with the Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP), opened an electronic small pas (E-Pas Kecil) registration outlet on Pramuka Island from October 11 to 13, 2023.

This is the first on Panggang Island

Seribu Islands Economics and Development Administration Assistant, Iwan Samosir assessed this service is very useful for fishermen. It is a form of government concern in providing safety, welfare, and economic guarantees for its residents.

Making an E-Pas is an obligation for ship owners as a legality or condition for ship worthiness. The small pass is intended for boats with a size (tonnage) of less than seven GT.

"This program must be campaigned for. By registering E-Pas, it can make it easier for fishermen to go to sea and find fish," he expressed, Thursday (11/12).

By doing so, this service could also record and re-verify the number of boats in the waters. It was free and expected to get it

Improve fishermen's awareness of the importance of complete boat documents.

"This is the first on Panggang Island. Next, we will schedule it on other inhabited islands," he added.

Seribu Islands Class IV KSOP Head, Mu'Min explained the Small E-Pas was shaped like an KTP. The technicalities of registering for the Small E-Pas were quite easy. The applicant only needed to attach several ship description documents.

Then his party could immediately take measurements on the boat. Afterwards, the E-Pas could be issued immediately.

"Data recording has been done on Panggang Island. There are 114 registrants," he stated.

The service received a positive response from Fahroni (32), a resident RT 02/05, Pramuka Island.

"I work as a fisherman every day. Small E-Pas will certainly provide benefits and safety for me," he admitted.
