Grogol Area will Become Priority of Flood Management

West Jakarta Local Administration will project the Grogol area as a priority of flood management this year, especially in front of Ciputra Mall, Trisakti University and Jalan Duren Raya.

Such area is a protocol road which is very vital and the main traffic. One of the solutions to overcome flood is by normalizing the Grogol River

Head of West Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department, Henry Dunant stated during rainy season, some points that are spread in Grogol Petamburan Sub-District are categorized as flood-prone areas.

“Such area is a protocol road which is very vital and the main traffic. One of the solutions to overcome flood is by normalizing the Grogol River,” he said, Tuesday (3/24).

Locals Proposed Flood Handling Activities in Grogol Petamburan

He also acknowledged will collaborate with Jakarta Water Management Department to optimize such normalization. This is because the project is one package with water reservoir construction in Grogol, Jelambar and Ratu Kebon Jeruk Park.

Dunant uttered regarding procurement, will start from water pumps, repairing damaged pumps and levees. It is estimated to spend Rp 383 billion or up from Rp 280 billion last year.

“Because of we use the 2014 City Budget (APBD) this year,  many programs will be eliminated,” he disclosed.
