Receding Floods in Pejagalan Already Noticeable

Floods as high as 10-25 centimeters that caused by the overflowing Angke River in 2 RTs, Pejagalan Urban Village, began to recede, Monday (3/22).

The river was overflowed from a sheet pile in which its construction has not been completed. But now, it has begun to recede

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the flood that hit Pejagalan area since dawn has been soaking houses that occupied by 80 households or 250 people.

Siti, (35), one of flood victims revealed the water level continue to rise until its peak at around 10 AM.

"The river was overflowed from a sheet pile in which its construction has not been completed. But now, it has begun to recede," she told, Monday (3/23).

Pejagalan Urban Village Head, Alamsyah admitted the cause of the overflowing waters is unfinished construction in some parts of sheet pile.

"We have reported and asked the sheet pile to be finished immediately. According to the information, it will be done in the upcoming April," he uttered.

Alamsyah added although the flood began to recede, yet it will take a long time due to tidal wave in the sea.
