Dozens of Jakarta Satpol PP personnel were deployed to assist with security and maintain public order during the registration stages for presidential candidates and vice presidential candidates for 2024-2029, at the Central General Election Commission (KPU) Office, Jalam Imam Bonjol, Central Jakarta, Thursday (10/19).

Satpol PP is spread out at some points

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin said 30 personnel deployed to work together with police personnel and the Transportation Agency (Dishub) to maintain a safe and conducive atmosphere.

"Satpol PP is spread out at some points to create a sense of security and comfort during the democratic party 2024 stages where today the registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates is being carried out," he expressed.

Those points were on Jalan Imam Bonjol to Taman Menteng, KPU office, Bundaran HI Police Post, Jalan Salemba to Jalan Diponegoro, Taman Hotel Mandarin, and in front of Hotel Kempinski.

"Some are seen patrolling Jalan Imam Bonjol to anticipate violations," he explained.

He explained they were tasked with controlling public order in places where there were large crowds. Especially, around the offices of the political parties supporting the presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"They are on guard to create partitions to minimize street vendors around the mass gathering area. I instruct those in charge to be firm in enforcing the rules in a polite and humane manner," he stated.
