Various Events Enliven Urban Farming Festival at Jakarta City Hall

On the second day of the Urban Farming Festival 2023, which takes place on the Ground Floor of the Block G Building, Jakarta City Hall, increasingly crowded with visitors.

Then prompt people to participate more in caring for the environment

Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Head, Suharini Eliawati was grateful for the extraordinary welcome from visitors to the Urban Farming Festival.

It was recorded that around 1,000 people visited on the first day of the event.

"This is according to our target, we recorded that 3,000 visitors came during three days. We have various activities or events every day," she expressed, at City Hall, Tuesday (10/31).

On the second day, her ageny opened treatment for cats, dogs, and ferrets. Visitors can also take advantage of technical guidance activities on hydroponic cultivation and flower arranging, as well as talk shows with various interesting discussion topics.

She hoped that the event could be known by all elements in Jakarta and its surrounding areas through a productive plant seed distribution program.

"Then prompt people to participate more in caring for the environment by planting and welcoming Jakarta to become a global city," she explained.

She provided unlimited productive plant seeds for visitors.

"We prepare unlimited plant seeds during the festival," she added.

Bimtek Speaker, PT Hydrofarm Indonesia President Director, Wirawan Hartawan uttered the urban farming program has been intensively implemented by the KPKP Agency since several years ago.

"The urban farming program mission is very good to be intensified in Jakarta, thus people can produce to meet their food needs such as healthy vegetables and fruit using hydroponic technology," he stated.

He added the hydroponic vegetable plants consumed could meet people's nutritional needs.

"As a result, stunting, which is still one of the problems in Jakarta, can be resolved by intensifying the urban farming program for Jakartans," he uttered.
