Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head, Heru Suwondo stated his party was showing proactive steps in facing the rainy season by alerting hundreds of officers and equipment, as well as ensuring that fleet operations were excellent.

"We strive to provide better protection for the people of Jakarta and the city's infrastructure," he expressed, when he led the ceremony about Preparedness Call in Facing the Rainy Season at the Bina Marga Equipment and Supplies Unit, Jalan D.I. Panjaitan, East Jakarta.

Rainy Season, Storm Drain Cleaning in West Jakarta Intensified

He explained the ceremony showed the strong commitment and preparedness of the Jakarta Bina Marga Agency to face potential disasters.

He instructed his staff to clean the storm drains and water pipes regularly in a bid to anticipate flooding in the rainy season.

"The purpose of this ceremony call is to prepare the Bina Marga Agency task forces in five regions to face the rainy season. For the community, we hope for their cooperation in not littering to smoothen the flow of water in the channels," he added.

As for the information, the ceremony involves representatives from each field, up to their respective units.

"All related sectors have their respective roles and responsibilities. Hopefully, this activity can increase our preparedness," he stated.
