Acting Governor Heru Appoints 203 Echelon-III and -IV Officials

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono again inaugurated, confirmed, and took the oath of office for 203 Administrator and Supervisory officials under the Jakarta Provincial Government, at Great Hall, Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (12/27).

The officials appointed were from the Jakarta Health Agency (122 people), Jakarta Investment and One-Stop Integrated Agency (PM-PTSP) (16 people), and Jakarta Education Agency (65 people).

On that occasion, he emphasized some important points that must be applied by newly appointed officials, both in new fields and remaining in the same field.

"Echelon III and IV officials must be prepared to support and assist the work of Echelon II. Provide various options and recommended solutions to complete tasks efficiently to achieve common goals," he expressed, as quoted by the Jakarta Government's press release.

He also urged them to understand and remember well the duties and functions, along with the ethics of the position that is the responsibility of each.

"Carry out these duties and functions following the authority given. Keep improving competence and maintaining professionalism at work. Maintain good communication among the ranks of the Jakarta Government," he explained.

He added that the City of Jakarta is being transformed from the status of the Capital City of Jakarta to the Special Region of Jakarta which functions as the center of the national economy and a global-scale business city.

He asserted all levels need to study and understand the Global City concept and implement it in carrying out their respective duties, thereby raising Jakarta's Global City Index towards becoming a global city.

"Every official builds a work team that has a cooperative ethos, avoid giving orders without providing assistance and supervision. All work must also be analyzed carefully," he added.

Not only that, the Acting Governor urged them to be sensitive to the social life of society. This attitude is manifested by not showing an excessive lifestyle, either directly or through social media (flexing).

"Ahead of the political year, I also ask all officials and ASN to maintain neutrality and avoid conflicts of personal, group, or class interests. Maintain ethics in the use of social media. The principle of neutrality must be upheld as a form of contribution in building a democratic, just, and dignified City of Jakarta," he concluded.
