The South Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency pruned 21,566 trees in 10 sub-districts last year.

Elly Sugestianingsih, Sub-agency's Head, said the pruning was completed along January-December 2023 based on five categories; light, medium heavy, fully pruned, and prone to fall.

According to him, 1,569 trees were pruned in Cilandak, 1,993 trees in Jagakarsa, 1,678 trees in Kebayoran Baru, 1,544 trees in Kebayoran Lama, and 1,211 trees in Mampang Prapatan.
Next were 2,174 trees in Pancoran, 1,782 trees in Pasar Minggu, 1,588 trees in Pesanggrahan, 1,891 trees in Setiabudi, and 1,390 trees in Tebet.
"Tree pruning was also conducted by Buser Team by 2,988 trees and Park Team by 1,758 trees," she added.
She continued that tree pruning is important to prevent fallen tree that can endanger resident.
"Trees are also important to minimize air pollution. But routine maintenance must be also applied," she continued.
South Jakarta Administration together with private parties remain running greening program.
"We planted 100,431 trees last year," she stated.
