Angke River Sheet Pile in West Jakarta Being Repaired

Her party had to be careful in carrying out repairs because there were many walls and fences from residents' houses on the right and left sides of the channel. Moreover, road access is narrow so supplying materials to the location takes time.

"It is targeted for completion in three weeks ahead," he concluded.

Baru Urban Village Head, Ambar Gumilar explained the part that collapsed was only about 50 centimeters. However, after checking, it was found that many points were prone to landslides. Thus, measurements were taken and the length reached 21 meters which had to be repaired.

"The conditions are indeed endangering the safety of residents," he stressed.

RT 02/07 Kelurahan Baru Chairman, Sigit Prabowo explained the channel was built independently 10 years ago using a Hong with a 40-centimeter diameter.

According to him, it had been repaired four times, but it still collapsed because of old. Even, near the location, there was a connecting channel of the CIjantung River.

"Hope it can be replaced with U-Ditch concrete measuring 40 centimeters. Because if you repair it patchily, it will be damaged again," he said.
