8,983 Points of Potholes in North Jakarta Repaired

From January to the first week of December 2023, the North Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency has repaired 8,983 potholes spread across six sub-districts.

The total area of roads that have been repaired reaches 105,202.8 square meters

Road and Bridge Division Head, Budi Cahyo expressed the damaged road repairs were conducted periodically by his party and sub-district task force personnel.

"The total area of roads that have been repaired reaches 105,202.8 square meters," he expressed, Monday (12/11).

2,245 Damaged Road Points in Kelapa Gading Have Been Repaired

He explained the volume of pothole damage at each point varied from 10 centimeters to one meter in diameter with an average depth of up to 15 centimeters. Generally, road damage was caused by puddles and heavy vehicle traffic.

"It is done using coldmix and hotmix asphalt materials, it depends the road condition," he explained.

Based on the data, road damage and repairs often occur during the rainy season, January to April.

In January 2023, the total number of roads repaired reached 1,239 points with a total area of around 4,950.72 square meters. In February, there were 1,267 points with a total area of 10,358.07 square meters.

Then in March, road damage resulting in potholes and repairs reached 1,451 spots with a total area of around 21,737.93 square meters. In April, there were 1,011 points with a total area of around 11,080.55 square meters.

"Approaching the peak of the rainy season, we'll keep sweeping damaged and potholed roads for repairs," he stated.
