15 Sacks of Garbage Collected from Channels on Jalan Benda Raya and Sahabat

Eight PPSU personnel, cleared dirty water channels on Jalan Benda Raya and Jalan Sahabat, RW 05, Kamal Urban Village, Kalideres, West Jakarta, Tuesday (1/16).

As of this afternoon, 15 sacks of garbage have been removed

Kamal Urban Village Head, Iqbal Siregar expressed the water channel being cleared on Jalan Benda Raya was 200 meters long and one meter wide. While the channel on Jalan Sahabat was up to 30 centimeters wide and 150 meters long.

According to him, personnel cleared the garbage that was blocking the channel culverts, thus water could flow smoothly into the Semongol River. Hopefully, it could anticipate inundaiton in both locations.

"As of this afternoon, 15 sacks of garbage have been removed from the Jalan Benda Raya channel, yet it will continue to increase because our personnel are still cleaning it up," he expressed, Tuesday (1/16).

He explained most garbage collected was dominated by plastic and wooden branches.

The work received appreciation from RT 06/05 Kamal Urban Village Chair, Toni. He stated every time it rains, these two channels are always streen by garbage carried by the water current.

"Hopefully, residents will help protect the environment by littering for the common good of keeping roads free from inundation," he hoped.
