Heru: Cheap Staple Food Program should Assist Residents

The Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono together with Central Jakarta City Secretary, Iqbal Akbarudin monitored the selling of cheap staple food at Gunung Sahari Utara Urban Village Office, Monday (1/22).

This program was initiated by Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime, and Agriculture (KPKP) cooperated with PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya.
Heru admitted his visit was aimed to greet the urban village head and his apparatus as well as monitoring the program.

According to him, his side prepared 500 packages and 500 single products.
Meanwhile, KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati, admitted the number of horticulture products sold at the first week of January 2024 was declining because big harvesting period in several areas.
Moreover, Jakarta Provincial Government also held similar program on January 15 and 16, 2024 in Duren Sawit, Penjaringan.
"Residents are able to buy four kgs of rice by Rp 50 thousand. It should handle the inflation rate well," she admitted.
Similar program will remain be held based on the Acting Jakarta Governor Heru Budi Hartono's direction. It is also to respond Ramadan month and resident's request to sell other products such as chicken meat, cow meat, and chicken egg.
"We hope the more cheap commodities to be sold, the more stable staple food price in Jakarta," she hoped.
Jumiati (55), resident of Gunung Sahari Utara, hoped similar program to be held routinely.
"We're happy with this program. It is helping us much," she admitted.
