30 Vehicles in S. jakarta Undergo Emission Tests

Some 30 vehicles underwent a free emission test initiated by the South Jakata Environment Sub-agency on Jalan Hj. Tutty Alawiyah, Kalibata Urban Village, Pancoran Sub-district, Wednesday (1/23).

All passed the test 

Control, Pollution and Environmental Damage Section Head, Tuty Ernawati said vehicle emission testing is one of the efforts to improve air quality in Jakarta.

"This is the first time in 2024. Thank God, people are still enthusiastic about undergoing emissions tests," she expressed, Wednesday (1/24).

She explained today's emissions tests had managed to served four motorcycles, 12 cars, as well as 16 diesel fueled cars or trucks.

"All passed the test. It also indicates the vehicle is in good condition," she explained.

She explained it is a process conducted to measure the amount of pollutants produced by vehicles and assess the extent to which vehicles comply with emission standards set by the government to protect the environment and public health.

"Residents who have undergone vehicle emissions tests have helped reduce air pollution and create a Jakarta blue sky," she added.

One of vehicle owners, Solikin (42), admitted his motorbike was regularly serviced at least once a month.

"I reflected on the news that in order for a vehicle to pass an emissions test, it must be serviced. So, I did it and finally my vehicle passed the emissions test," he closed.
