South Jakarta Targets Zero Stunting

The South Jakarta Administration keeps accelerating to reach zero stunting target through several intervention.

68 of them or 11 percent are growing well

South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin, said as many as 719 toddlers with stunting are targeted to be intervened this year through foster parents program called Gerakan Orang Tua Asuh Anak Stunting Jakarta Selatan (Go Tuntas JS).

City Intensively Reduces Stunting, Targets No New Cases

"Go Tuntas JS is effective. There were 615 toddlers indicated with stunting. 68 of them or 11 percent are growing well," he said, Friday (1/26).

Based on the Grebek Stunting Data, there are 58,291 children being inputted in e-PGBM and 1,053 of them have problem with nutrition. 719 toddlers are indicated with stunting.

"Collecting data was run in 65 urban villages on September 25 up to October 16, 2023. Not only Go Tuntas JS, we'll also handle stunting with Kelompok Peduli Gizi and Kampung Gizi Cahaya," he added.

According to him, South Jakarta Administration will also cooperate with stakeholders such as Regional Owned Enterprises, private, community, organization and other institutions.

"We'll hold coaching and giving nutritious extra food for free," he continued.

Moreover, Munjirin stated that local health sub-agency and cadres will also to intervention through several programs such as toddler's grow monitoring, teenager's nutrition coaching, toddler's growth simulation in KPG, breastfeeding consultation, and so on.

"It is hoped stunting in South Jakarta can be handled well to reach zero case," he closed.
