297 Buildings on Jalan Pademangan I Torn Down

Satpol PP officers tore down as many as 297 illegal buildings standing on Benyamin Sueb Riverbank at Jalan Pademangan I, Pademangan Timur Urban Village, Pademangan, North Jakarta, Tuesday (4/7).

Before being controlled, the sub-district side has repeatedly warned the owners to demolish their own building. Commonly, those buildings are semi-permanent.

"The sub-district side has repeatedly warned them yet they ignored it. This time, the riverbank should be emptied as it will be built an inspection road," said North Jakarta City Council member, Abdul Karim.

250 Buildings Along Jalan Pergudangan Demolished

Vice Head of Pademangan Sub-District, Abdul Chalik disclosed, there are still 17 buildings which is not being demolished yet due to it is still waiting for the administration process. Considering, the owners of those buildings have a deed of sale and payment receipt of land property taxes (PBB).

"While the other buildings do not have any certificates," he disclosed.

In this demolition, one unit of excavators were deployed to tear down the buildings and the debris were transported using 4 Jakarta Cleanliness Department owned trucks.
