City Secretary Leads Lintas Jaya 2024 Operation Ceremony

Jakarta Regional Secretary, Joko Agus Setyono led the ceremony of Lintas Jaya 2024 Operation at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (1/31).

The ceremony that was also attended by personnel of Jakarta Transportation Agency, Indonesian Army, and Indonesian Police is hoped to create orderly traffic heading to Jakarta Global City.

"The operation is joint operation between Jakarta Provincial Government, army and police in order to create orderly traffic in Jakarta," he said as quoted in Jakarta Provincial Government's Press Release.

According to him, the operation will involve 478 personnel of Jakarta Transportation Agency, 83 army personnel, and 144 police personnel. The personnel will also be completed with 55 patrol cars, 125 towing cars, 10 trucks, and 186 electric motorcycles.

He added that the operation aims to realize safety, order and smoothness in transportation. The main targets are illegal parking and unworthiness vehicles.

The operation that has been running for three years brought good result.

"The number of violation in 2023 was lower compared to 2022," he added.

At the same moment, Joko also thanked to Lintas Jaya Team who already done the job well. In 2021, 47,633 vehicles were ticketed, 103,966 vehicles in 2022 and 71,478 vehicles in 2023.

Joko hoped the personnel will prioritize a humanist, persuasive, educational and safety during the operation. It is aimed to gain the road user awareness in obeying traffic sign.

Joko also reminded that Jakarta will face bigger challenge since its status is changed to Jakarta Special Region. Jakarta must develop into global city which its development can not be run in short time.

"We need cooperation to achieve the global city status," he closed.
