Johar Baru Health Center Holds Postpartum Mother Class

Johar Baru Sub-district Community Health Center, Central Jakarta, Thursday (2/15), held a Postpartum Mother Class in the hall on the sixth floor. There were nine participants.

It aims to improve health

Johar Baru Sub-district Health Center's Family Health Coordinator, Adibah said this class for postpartum mothers was to increase awareness of maternal health after giving birth for up to 40 days.

"It aims to improve health while reducing the risk of maternal death after giving birth," she said, Thursday (2/15).

Jakarta Beraksi Program Reaches 292 Toddlers

Postpartum Mother Class Facilitator, Widya, explained that it was the first activity carried out by his party. Previously, activities had started at the urban village level.

Participants received education about nutrition, needs during postpartum and exclusive breastfeeding, as well as postpartum mothers' exercise.

"We also educate about the risk factors that mothers may face during the postpartum period," he asserted.

Tarma, one of the participants admitted that she gained a lot of knowledge following this activity. Thus, he could better understand caring for his own health and taking care of his baby.

"I felt helped by the information presented," stated a mother with two children from Kampung Rawa.
