Channel in RW 04 Rawa Buaya Dredged to Prevent Inundation

To minimize inundation in the rainy season, the West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA) is dredging water channels in RW 04, Rawa Buaya Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-district.

West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Purwanti said the channel a wide as 8 centimeters with one meter high. It was done to monitor results from the West Jakarta administration, as the location is also an area prone to inundation.
"Dredging has been ongoing since a week ago," she expressed, Tuesday (2/20).

"This is targeted for completion in one month ahead. Hopefully, it can accommodate rainwater in large quantities," she explained.
Rawa Buaya Urban Village RW 04 Chairman, Jupri Ahmad admitted that the location was indeed prone to inhndation when heavy rain occurred. Thereby, he was grateful that the channel at the location had been conducted in the hope of minimizing inundation.
"Thank you for responding to residents' wishes to have the drains in our residential area dreged," he said.
