Heru Releases 15 Thousand Ton of Rice Distribution Gradually

Jakarta Provincial Government distributes 15 thousand ton of rice gradually to fulfill rice stock for residents living in Jabodetabek. Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono was symbolically released the truck carrying the rice.

“Together with the related stakeholders, we make sure premium rice stock in Cipinang Market is safe. That is why we can distribute 15 thousand ton of rice to fulfill rice stock for residents living in Jabodetabek area, Heru said during his visit to Cipinang Market, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Wednesday (2/21).

Heru explained as many as 300 ton of rice distribution starts today by deploying 20 trucks. It is aimed to fulfill rice target as instructed by President Joko Widodo. Rice stock in Jakarta now is 30 thousand ton and will be distributed gradually up to Eid ul Fir.

“The stock is enough also for retail in Jabodetabek. Residents should not worry with our rice stock. We also have safety stock by 30 thousand ton. Please buy the rice based on our need. I think 10 kilograms is enough for our family in a month,” he added as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government’s Press Release.

Meanwhile, Indonesia Retail Association Head, Roy Nicholas Manley, stated appreciation is given for Jakarta Provincial Government for its initiation and cooperation to fulfill rice stock through modern retail. His side will optimize the distribution up to large harvest by the end of May 2024.

“We try our best to supply the rice through modern retail distribution. We also cooperate with Alfamart, Indomaret, Superindo, Hypermart, and other modern retails to maintain the price decided by the government,” he explained.

Acting Jakarta Governor was also accompanied by Economy and Monetary Assistant Sri Haryati, Economy Bureau Head Mochamad Abbas, Regional Owned Enterprise Management Head Nasruddin Djokovic Surjono, Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Agency Head Suharini Eliawati, PT Tjipinang Food Station Director Pamrihadi Wiraryo, APRINDO Director Roy Nicholas Mandey, and Bank Indonesia Representative Head Aryana Abubakar.
