Jakarta Provincial Government Distributes 3,000 Packages of Staple Food for Tanah Abang and Palmerah Residents

We sold 1,000 packages in Tanah Abang and 2,000 packages in Palmerah

Jakarta Provincial Government keeps holding cheap staple food market in Tanah Abang Sub-district, Central Jakarta and Palmerah Sub-district, West Jakarta.

The program sold 3,000 packages of cheap staple food for both sub-districts. There was also animal protein products sold by Perumda Dharma Jaya.

Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono said, the resident was able to buy staple food package consisted 5 kilograms of rice, two liters of cooking oil, one kilogram, of sugar, and one kilogram of fluoride by Rp 100,000. The normal price is sold Ro 130,000.

“Today, Jakarta Provincial Government together with Resort Police Chief, Dandim, Kajari, and Mayor opened the market. We sold 1,000 packages in Tanah Abang and 2,000 packages in Palmerah. Perumda Dharma Jaya also sold  chicken meat, egg, and others,” Heru said, Wednesday ( 2/21).

Heru also stated that the market was also attended by Regional Head Communications Forum (Forkopimda) for Central Jakarta and West Jakarta.

“Thanks for all who already attending the market here. The locations are directly decided by Resort Police Head, Dandim, and Kajari,” Heru added as quoted from Jakarta Provincial Government’s press release.

Jakarta Provincial Government will continue the program, up to fasting month and Eid ul fir. It is aimed to stabilize the price and inflation, and stale food stock for Jakarta residents. He hoped the program can be also participated by other sides such as private and community.

“We try to stabilize the price and inflation rate, as well as keeping staple food stock remains exist. I hope private and communities are able to participate in this program in the future,” he closed.
