No More Problem for City Budget, Kumolo Says

The 2015 City Budget problem is already clear since the Home Ministry has agreed the gubernatorial regulation (Pergub) as the legal basis for budget arrangement. The Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo said during the Regional Development Planning Forums (Musrenbang) at City Hall today (4/14).

“City budget is completed. Vice governor along with city secretary and our team have discussed the budget problem. The most important thing is budget has been approved administratively from Pergub,” he uttered.

He asked City Administration immediately to run the priority programs such as health, education, infrastructure, Transjakarta and Monorail projects. "Other programs are depend on the city administration as the citizen's aspiration executor," he added.

During his speech in the forum, the minister stated that Jakarta as the autonomy region has more authority, financing, and institutional compared to other regions. Today's musrenbang should be used as referral in order to arrange the 2016 city budget. "But it must be based on 2014 and 2015 city budget evaluation," he stated.

According to him, the development program in the capital is still running even though the budget determination was late. The employees' financing must be solved by city administration and city council if there is a change. "The supervision function must run well," he continued.

Related to the use of budget, Kumolo explained that it will be disbursed in this month (April). He hoped the high regional revenue of this city would eliminate the budget surplus this year.

“It is expected to be disbursed this month, we won’t take any advantage of this matter. Don’t let the vice governor is protested by his subordinate regarding salary, incentive and so on,” he disclosed.
