Jakarta Provincial Government Makes Sure Cheap Market Fulfills Resident Needs

Jakarta Provincial Government keeps holding cheap staple food program to fulfill resident needs with lower price.

Residents are enthusiast to attend the cheap market

Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati, admitted the program which held from January 15, 2024 is always flocked by residents.

"Residents are enthusiast to attend the cheap market," she said during cheap market implementation at Kebon Jeruk Sub-district, West Jakarta, Monday (2/26).

Cheap Staple Food Programs Held in Two Sub-districts

According to her, the program is also supported from stakeholder such as Regional Owned Enterprise and private.

"Jakarta Provincial Government keeps holding the program since food becomes local government authority," she added.

There were 65,000 packages sold in every market held in Jakarta.

"Not only cheap market, central government and Jakarta Provincial Government have distributed rice assistance by 10 kgs/family, also Bulog Siaga held in Jabodetabek. It aims to stabilize price at the markets," she continued.

Eli appeals residents not doing panic buying since Jakarta Provincial Government remains monitor the stock especially ahead fasting month and Eid ul fitr.

"Each cheap market programs is always flocked by residents. It means their needs are fulfilled so that food price will stable," she closed.
