Ahead of Fasting Month, Rice Stock at Cipinang Market is Safe

The rice stock at Cipinang Market, East Jakarta is safe. The residents should not worry about the rice stock ahead of fasting month on March 10 or 11, 2024.

The price is getting lower since three days ago

The Food Tenacity team which consists National Food Agency, Bulog, City Police, Perpadi, and others, has monitored directly to the market, Wednesday (2/28).

Jakarta Perpadi Head, Nelis Soekidi, admitted the rice price at the market also lower compared to previous days.

At Cipinang Market, he added, Bulog's medium rice is sold Rp 10,600/kg and premium rice is Rp 13,500-14,000/kg. Previously, premium rice was sold Rp 14,500/kg.

According to him, the rice price is getting lower since several areas such as Solo, Sragen, Ngawi, Boyolali, and others have entered the harvesting period.

"The price is getting lower since three days ago. It can be under Rp 13,500/kg " he said.

Meanwhile, National Food Agency Head, Arief Prasetyo Adi, explained that the rice stock will still safe eventhough the demand will increase up to 30 percent during fasting month.

"It is predicted that the rice stock will reach 3.5 million ton," he explained.

His side will monitor the rice price and stock at the market for the sake of residents' comfort ahead of fastig month.
