Dinas Dukcapil Mulai Lakukan Pendataan Pendatang Baru

Dukcapil Begins to Collect Data on Newcomers in Jakarta

The Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Agency (Dukcapil) says there will be no judicial operations for new arrivals to Jakarta after Idul Fitri.

We still don't have a judicial process

Nevertheless, the agency calls on newcomers to have a clear place to live, as it is a requirement in the data collection process.

Jakarta Dukcapil Head, Budi Awaluddin said that apart from being guaranteed a place to live, newcomers were also required to already have or have a clear job supported by qualified skills.

"We still don't have a judicial process. Anyone can actually have the right to come to Jakarta. Besides guaranteeing a place to live, they are also expected to have job security and also be consciously equipped with skills, thus when they come, we will develop Jakarta together," he expressed, Wednesday (4/17).

His party would hold data collection services for newcomers starting April 16, 2024, until the next month. Population movement occurred during that period because many residents were returning home bringing their relatives when they returned to Jakarta.

"We'll hold this data collection for one month to process those who come here, whether they bring their families and immediately carry out the process of moving or coming," he explained.

He explained newcomers to Jakarta after Idul Fitri decreased this year based on last year's data. The trend of newcomers would also relatively decrease in early 2024.

"This year, its number will decrease because we see that the data for arrivals in 2023 will also decrease. And the January to March, trend of people coming to Jakarta is also decreasing. We predict that this year the returning flow will be around 10,000 to 15,000. Yesterday, it was 20,000 to 25,000," he added.

The public can directly monitor the movement of population data online via the Dariku Untukmu website or https://kependudukancapil.jakarta.go.id/tematik_datang/.

"The number per day can be seen on our website," he added.

He uttered the last judicial operation was in 2018. However, because it was felt that it did not have a significant impact, this year, it was not held like the previous year.

"This time, the Dukcapil Agency has a new pattern by using a program for structuring and controlling population documents," he stated.
