Marunda Pedestrian Bridge Repair to Complete May 2024

The repair of Marunda Pedestrian Bridge, North Jakarta which was hit by a truck on Saturday (4/16), is targeted to complete next month.

North Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-agency Head, Ilham Raya, said the repair is under Jakarta Bina Marga's City Utility and Facility Division.

"The repair has been running by third parties. Some of the materials are being ordered," he said, Thursday (4/18).

He added that the company owns truck container commits to take responsibility of this matter.

"The pedestrian bridge was newly launched last year. It is hoped the repair can run smoothly," he added.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Bina Marga's City Utility and Facility Development Section Head, Semporanto Pandopotan Marpaung, stated the pedestrian bridge has length 22.6 meters.

"The incident did not give impact to bridge structure," he stated.

Meanwhile, one of Cilincing Urban Village residents, Asmi (33), admitted the bridge assists her much to cross the road safely.

"The bridge is important for children or students to cross the road safely," she stated.
