Sooner or later, the Jakarta Bina Marga Agency is about to build the iconic People's Crossing Bridge (JPO) near the Kebayoran Skywalk.
The bridge will be built from the right side of Corridor 8
It aims to facilitate residents who specifically want to go to Kebayoran Lama Train Station.
Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head, Hari Nugroho stated that this new JPO bridge is almost 200 meters from the Corridor 8 Transjakarta bus stop. Its construction was realized to follow up on residents' request for access to the Kebayoran Lama Train Station due to the dense traffic around the location.
Tap on Kebayoran Skywalk, Only for Transjakarta Bus UsersThis bridge was intended for the general public, not intermodal passengers like on the Kebayoran Skywalk.
"The bridge will be built from the right side of Corridor 8 which leads to the village to KCI. This is only for non-passenger crossings, where those who cross are free," he explained, Wednesday (2/8).
He explained that the bridge, which is planned to begin construction in April 2023, is about 30 meters long. The concept and design carried are the same as JPO which has been revitalized today, namely modern, iconic, disabled, and elderly friendly
"It will spend a budget by Rp 12 billion. Our target is to finish it in the upcoming November. It will be made iconic as now there is an elevator, RGB lights, if you want a selfie you can go there," he explained.
By doing so, residents can directly access to Kebayoran Station.
"So, it can be distinguished between the function of the skywalk and JPO, so no one wants to take the train anymore, why pay for the Transjakarta bus," he stated.
