South Jakarta Vice Mayor, Edi Sumantri said that hopefully all side are able to promote the importance of immunization through 2024 World Immunization Week for the healthier nation.

"This activity is very important as an effort to avoid diseases that can be prevented by immunization," he said, Monday (4/29).

He requests all stakeholder in South Jakarta to be active in promoting immunization.

According to him, carrying out advocacy and outreach is very important to increase the commitment of local governments and cross-sectors or cross-programs in disseminating information and education regarding complete immunization.

"After immunization, they get a certificate as a sign that they have been fully immunized. I hope that this certificate will be useful as proof that you have made preventive efforts to prevent the severity of the disease," he added.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Yudi Dimyati, hoped all side are getting involved in promoting immunization.

Based on the data, immunization coverage in South Jakarta up to March 2024 stated that not all sub-districts have achieved the complete basic immunization target of 25 percent.

For this reason, cross-sector collaboration is needed to make efforts to increase immunization coverage so that babies and toddlers in the region can achieve complete immunization status.
