The Jakarta Provincial Government in collaboration with Shawl & Co held a 'Cloth Tutorial Workshop' at Grha Ali Sadikin, Jakarta City Hall, Monday (4/29).

This workshop is part of a series of Kartini Day commemorations.
The participants attended were representatives of ASN, OPD/SKPD, TP PKK, and Dharma Wanita Jakarta.
PPAPP Agency Holds Webinar on Women's Struggle in Modern EraJakarta Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) Head, Mochamad Miftahulloh Tamary stated it aimed to share knowledge and knowledge regarding the procedures for using traditional cloth in everyday life.
He explained that Indonesian people only used cloth as clothing which was a necessity for everyday wear before the 19th century.
Of course, as a woman living in modern times, this cloth culture must be preserved, thus it does not disappear with the progress and development of the times.
"Fabric in Indonesia is a rich cultural heritage that we must continue to preserve with various types from all corners of the archipelago, including songket, ulos, kebaya, batik, and others," he explained.
He explained wearing cloth has now become a trend and fashion movement that is popularized not only by adult women but also young people. Hence, people must be proud to use cloth in various activities, both formal and daily activities, thus cloth can remain sustainable.
Through workshop, participants would learn and explore the knowledge conveyed about how to use traditional cloth on various occasions, both in everyday life and at formal events.
"Hopefully, it can provide more value for women in Jakarta, especially women in the Jakarta area in respecting local cultural heritage and preserving Indonesian culture through wearing cloth," he hoped.
As for the information, the Jakarta Government commemorates and enlivens Kartini Day through various activities involving female ASNs, both officials and staff in each OPD/SKPD area of Jakarta this year. The theme is 'Srikandi Jakarta Langkah Sejuta Suluh'.
"Thank you to the resource persons and tutors who were willing to share their knowledge and to the participants who came to take part in this workshop. Let's make this workshop a valuable moment to learn, share and inspire each other," he stated.
