East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar, gave certificates of appreciation to outstanding high school teachers and students. This appreciation was handed over in the National Education Day (Hardiknas) commemoration ceremony in the mayor's office yard, Thursday (5/2).

According to him, the appreciation was worthy of being given because they had been champions in education, sports, science, etc. It was expected to motivate other students in East Jakarta to achieve the best achievements.

“They are fighters in education, sports, science, etc. As the City Government appreciates it, we motivate by providing a charter," he expressed.

According to him, after Jakarta's status became a Global City following the move of the country's capital, it was necessary to prepare sophisticated, good, and high-quality human resources (HR). It is following the theme of National Education Day 2024, 'National Education Day 2024'.

"Thereby, it needs to keep learning and learning," he asserted.

On the other hand, an XI grader student from SMAN Unggulan MH Thamrin, Nadia Salma Zhafira admitted that she was happy, as she could win the International Mathematical Olympiad.

"Hopefully, in the future, the world of education will be even better and the knowledge gained can be useful for the world of education in this country," she hoped.

She then encouraged students in Indonesia to remain enthusiastic about learning because studying is important for the younger generation to achieve their dreams.

There were also other students at the same school who had achievements, namely Syakira Basalama, who got second place in the Euler Mathematical Olympiad, and Abdullah Hafiz won first place in the Hong Kong International Science Olympiad

Then Aslam Rehan Saptotriono from SMKN 46 Jakarta (1st Place in the National Science and Language Olympiad, national level in physics), Rendi Wicokro from SMKN 69 Jakarta (1st Place in the National Science Olympiad Quarter).

In the field of sports, awards were given to Banyu Hisaka Batarasresta from SDN Rawamangun 12 Pagi who won 1st Place in the Bali Taekwondo International Championship 2023, and Febrian Jovas Nararya from SMPN 109 Jakarta who won 3rd Place in the Oder Toolve, Boys U12 World Youth Cup Category, Gothia Cup 2023 in Sweden.

Meanwhile, the outstanding teacher was Nur Rahmah Cahyani from SDN Balimester 1 who won 2nd place in the National Elementary School Teachers' Natural Science Olympiad (AD).
