245 Jumantik Cadres in Kemayoran Ready to Anticipate Dengue Fever

As many as 245 Jumantik cadres at eight urban villages from all sub-districts in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, attended ceremony of dengue fever anticipation. The ceremony held at RPTRA Harapan Mulya, RT 12/04, Harapan Mulya Urban Village, was held by Mayor Dhany Sukma, Friday (5/3).

Dhany said that the most effective effort to reduce the number of dengue fever cases is to intensify mosquito nest eradication (PSN) activities in seven settings. Fogging can only be carried out if a case is found and an epitomological search has been carried out.

He added that improper fogging activities can also be fatal because the Aedes aegypti mosquito becomes immune. Therefore, he hopes for the collaboration of all parties to work together to activate PSN.

"The most effective way in eradicating dengue fever is PSN," he said.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Rismasari, explained the ceremony was also attended by Puskesmas apparatuses, RSUD apparatuses, and urban village apparatuses.

Apart from carrying out routine PSN activities, Risma admitted that her party hopes that the independent Jumantik cadres that have been formed can effectively carry out PSN in their respective homes.

"The report we have now is that all houses in Kemayoran have independent Jumantik," she stated.
