PT JIEP to Build Big Mosque in East Jakarta

PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the JIEP Jayakarta Mosque, Friday (5/3).

This mosque presents a building design that can absorb natural light

The mosque will be one of the big mosques in East Jakarta, standing on a land as wide as 8,800 square meters and able to accommodate up to 4,000 worshipers.

BUMD's Guidance Agency Head, Nasruddin Djoko Surjono, appreciated PT JIEP for presenting one of the big mosques in East Jakarta and becoming a source of pride for Jakarta residents, especially for workers in the Pulogadung Industrial Area.

"The Jakarta Provincial Government as one of the shareholders of PT JIEP really supports the construction of the JIEP Jayakarta Mosque and hopes that the construction can proceed on time," he expressed.

PT JIEP Acting President Director, Dharma Satriadi stated the JIEP Jayakarta Mosque carries the Green Building concept with a modern and aesthetic design.

"This mosque presents a building design that can absorb natural light and is equipped with a green plaza area, thus it can provide a beautiful and comfortable impression for the congregation who will do worship or activities here," he explained.

He added the mosque was first established in 1981 and became the first mosque in the Pulogadung Industrial Area. However, in 2021, the building experienced a fire which caused the entire building to collapse.

"Hopefully, the redevelopment can give blessings for PT JIEP and also all stakeholders of the Pulogadung Industrial Area and the construction process can run smoothly and on time, thus it can be immediately used by all stakeholders of the Pulogadung Industrial Area," he explained.

As for the information, the groundbreaking ceremony for the JIEP Jayakarta Mosque was also attended by PT Danareksa and Jakarta Government as shareholders of PT JIEP, PT Nindya Beton as the implementer of JIEP Jayakarta Mosque Construction, PT Virama Karya as the design consultant for JIEP Jayakarta Mosque, East Jakarta Mayor, Religion Ministry, Community Harmony Forum Jakarta's religions and all main stakeholders of PT JIEP.
