Water Channel Cleaning at Pulogadung Terminal Completed Today

The cleaning of the 100-meter-long and 1.1-meter-wide water channel in the Pulogadung Terminal area, carried out by the East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) staff since Monday (4/22), finally completed Monday (5/6) today.

There have been no problems so far

Pulogadung Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Didi Rusdiana stated the process of cleaning the 1.6-meter-deep channel used one unit of mini backhoe type heavy equipment. Even on Sunday (5/6), his party together with the terminal management held community service to clean up debris and mud deposits around the exit.

"There have been no problems so far," he expressed.

His party would carry out cleaning at the end of the channel which borders residential areas. At this location, there was still mud deposits as thick as one meter. However, because of difficult access, cleaning would be done manually.

The work received appreciation from Pulogadung Terminal Head, Suratman.

He hoped that the cleaning of the end of the water channel connected to the connecting channel on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan could be completed within a week in order to prevent flooding.

He added debris covered the entire channel so it did not work at all. It is connected to the Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan carriage channel which flows into the Sunter River.

"This aims to create comfort for residents and passing motorists," he stated.
