Acting Jakarta Governor Declares Jakarta's 497 Anniversary

Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, declared the Jakarta's 497 Anniversary at Bundaran HI, Menteng, Central Jakarta. The anniversary brings theme "Jakarta Global Berjuta Pesona" (Jakarta Global is Millions of Charms).

The declaration was started with cycling with Regional Communication Forum Leader (Forkopimda) from City Hall to Bundaran HI.

The declaration was run together with car free day implementation.

Heru said this year's theme means Jakarta as a global city must have attractiveness, be a calm and orderly city, children can go to school for free, and its citizens should be prosperous.

"This is the last year that Jakarta will hold capital city status after the DKJ Law was passed. In the future, whoever leads Jakarta must make Jakarta a global city and achieve the best ranking compared to other cities in the world," he said, Sunday (5/19).

According to him, after no longer being the capital, Jakarta as an economic magnet will provide the best and conducive conditions for investors.

"We have to collect various international standard activity spots, namely sports, culinary, culture, and so on which are held every week and month. So, the economy will continue to run and produce quite good PAD in the future," he added.

Heru continued that Jakarta Provincial Government also has several activities to celebrate Jakarta's 497 Anniversary on next June 22, 2024.

"A number of events that will be held include the Jakarta Fair, the Jakarta International Marathon, shopping discounts at a number of shopping centers and discounts on free MRT and Transjakarta rides on certain days," he stated.

As for information, the declaration went smooth and enlivened by various artists and top bands.

The atmosphere became even more lively when Heru held a quiz with attractive prizes such as bicycles and cooking equipment.
