Tens of School Headmaster Attend Red Cross Socialization

As many as 60 school headmasters of South Jakarta Education Sub-agency Area I participated red cross socialization held by local Indonesian Red Cross. The activity was held at SMKN 57 Hall, Jalan Taman Margasatwa, Jati Padang Urban Village, Pasar Minggu.

He said that this activity is very important for the world of education to increase awareness of potential disasters that could occur at any time, especially during the teaching and learning process.

"The material presented was very good, the school headmasters also listened well. So, it is hoped that in the future schools that do not have PMR can synergize with PMI South Jakarta," he said, Monday (5/20).

Meanwhile, South Jakarta PMI Chairman, Abdul Haris, stated the socialization aims to foster and develop early preparedness for students from elementary to high school and equivalent.

He added that it also aims to build the character of Head of Red Cross so that they are ready to become PMI volunteers in the future in preparing for disaster mitigation.

According to him, there are already 30 schools have PMR and the remaining 84 have no PMR yet in Cilandak Sub-district.

Then in Kebayoran Lama Sub-district is 34 schools with PMR and 90 have no PMR yet.

"In Jagakarsa Sub-district is 36 schools with PMR and 99 schools have no PMR yet. While in Pesanggrahan Sub-district is 29 schools have PMR and 54 schools have no PMR yet," he explained.

He hopes that today's socialization can produce policies from school headmasters to be able to implement PMR as part of extracurricular activities in realizing safe and comfortable education for students.
