Those 2,000 packages were symbolically handed by East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar and PMI Chairman HR Krisdianto to 15 representatives of the orphans at the PMI East Jakarta Headquarters on Wednesday (4/6) afternoon. While the rest of the compensation was sent to 10 sub-districts to be distributed to the recipients.
The mayor disclosed that it is an annual routine activity of East Jakarta PMI in the month of Ramadan.

East Jakarta PMI Chairman HR Krisdianto explained his party also assisted the blood donor volunteers at the East Jakarta PMI Blood Donor Unit (UDD) in the form of rice and one liter of packaged cooking oil.
Every afternoon, 100 packages of takjil (breaking-of-the-fast snack) are also distributed to road users who pass on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai. Overall, there are about 2,000 takjil packages distributed during Ramadan.
According to him, it was a form of accountability to the public for donations that were entrusted by the community to the East Jakarta PMI and returned to the community in the form of humanitarian services for the needy.
