Crossing Work to Cause Traffic Diversion on Jalan Raya Bogor and Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai

The East Jakarta City Water Resources Sub-agency (SDA) together with the East Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit is about to apply traffic diversion on Jalan Raya Bogor and Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, to allow for the construction of a channel crossing.

According to Benhard Tobing, Section Head of Traffic for East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, traffic diversion will be applied from Wednesday (5/22) to Sunday (5/26) from 10 to 11 PM.

"We open and close the flow of vehicles. This is done in stages per lane of the road, adjusting the channel crossing work process which is also conducted in stages," he expressed.

To smoothen it, two personnel would be on standby at the location, assisted by the Traffic Unit and Satpol PP.  

East Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Acting Head, Abdul Rauf Gaffar added traffic diversion on two roads was slated to be applied at night to dawn so as not to disturb residents' activities.

"But during the day vehicles can still pass," he expressed.

Development Section Head, Tengku Saugi Zikri explained the channel crossing work on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai is 26 meters long using a box culvert measuring 150x150 centimeters. The work plan starts from one lane on the south side of the road or the east of Bekasi towards the west of Jatinegara (upstream of the channel).

As for the Gang H. Sarmili to Jalan Raya Bogot, the channel is 19 meters, starting from one lane on the west side of the road or the edge of Kali Baru. Crossing channels use a box culvert measuring 150x150 centimeters.

"Besides opening and closing roads, contractors also put up banners with information on alternative routes," he stated.
