Construction of Mandor Hasan Reservoir Begins

The East Jakarta administration has started building the Mandor Hasan Reservoir on Jalan Mandor Hasan, RW 01 Bambu Apus, Cipayung, Tuesday (5/28). It is targeted to be completed by the end of this year.

This is targeted for completion with a depth of five meters

Together with his staff, East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar inspected the reservoir construction which started today. Even, he even got to tried to drive the long-arm excavator heavy equipment used for the construction of the reservoir.

According to him, the reservoir was built on a 2.2-hectare land to overcome flooding at the location, as well as following up on community aspirations.

Water Channel and Reservoir Provided on Jalan Pantai Selatan

"From that land, the reservoir will be made around 3,000 squarw meters and the rest will be used for a jogging track, an interactive park, a children's playground, and so forth," he explained.

There was also a connecting channel that would channel the reservoir water if it was high to the Sunter River.

Cipayung Sub-district Head, Panangaran Ritonga added flooding usually occurs in the areas of RT 04, 06, and 10/RW 01, Bambu Apus Urban Village. Flooding occurs due to nearby water channels not functioning normally. Even, some of it is still natural so it needs to be dredged or made using a box culvert or U-ditch concrete.

"Hopefully, flooding in the area can be overcome," he hoped.

Cipayung Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Dian Kartika explained the work was carried out independently by the East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency.

"This is targeted for completion with a depth of five meters," she stated.
