Heavy Equipment Falling Incident, MRT Operations Temporarily Stopped

MRT Jakarta operations had to be temporarily stopped due to an incident of falling heavy equipment from ongoing construction activities in the Indonesian Attorney General's Building area, Thursday (5/30), at around 4.40 PM.

Via its official social media account, PT MRT Jakarta confirmed that no fatalities or injuries to MRT Jakarta passengers.

"There has been an incident of heavy equipment falling from construction activities at the Attorney General's Building by the contractor Hutama Karya, which has had an impact on MRT Jakarta train operations, thus MRT Jakarta operations have been temporarily suspended," stated via PT MRT Jakarta's Instagram social media account.

PT MRT Jakarta had evacuated all passengers by dropping off passengers at the nearest MRT station. They also informed that passengers can apply for a refund for those who purchased tickets via the application and perform a reset for users.

"We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this disruption and ensure that the security and safety of Jakarta MRT service users is maintained. We will try our best to restore train and station operations as soon as possible," he added.
