Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono accompanied President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo to inspect the construction of the Jakarta Phase 2A MRT line (Bundaran HI-Kota), Friday (12/15).

The President appreciated the performance of the MRT construction team which had exceeded the planning target of 27 percent.

This is not an easy job because you have to work in the hustle and bustle of Jakarta, when making tunnels it is also not easy, indeed the progress is already above target," he stated.
Regarding the construction of MRT Jakarta Phase 3 (Cikarang-Balaraja), he said the construction plan is currently in the process of further study and will start immediately when it is complete.
"We immediately decided everything, as Jakarta really needs integrated mass transportation, but not individually," he concluded.
As the information, the meeting was also attended by PT MRT Jakarta President Commissioner, Dodik Wijanarko; PT MRT Jakarta President Director, Tuhiyat; and PT MRT Jakarta Construction Director, Weni Maulina, to inspect the panels in the receiving sub station area and the tunnel from the Monas Station MRT project to the Thamrin Station MRT project.
The 5.8-kilometer-long MRT Phase 2A construction has six underground stations (Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar and Glodok) and one at grade/above ground station (Kota). Phase 2A is divided into two segments, namely segment one Bundaran HI-Harmoni, which is targeted for completion in 2027, and segment two Harmoni-Kota, which is targeted for completion in 2029.
