Tens of School Headmaster Attend Red Cross SocializationAccording to him, the existence of the Youth Red Cross (PMR) in schools is very important in educating the character of a humanitarian spirit and caring for others.
"We hope that students at elementary to high school and equivalent levels can handle problems in terms of handling disasters or emergencies at school and in their environment," he said, Wednesday (6/5).
He appealed to schools that do not yet have PMR to synergize with PMI South Jakarta as soon as possible. Apart from the importance of character education, this activity is also carried out free of charge by PMI South Jakarta.
"Later they can take part in PMR championships or competitions. So, they can add a certificate for completeness if they enter school via the achievement route," he added.
Meanwhile, South Jakarta PMI Head, Abdul Haris, stated this activity aims to develop early preparedness for students so that they can become spearheads in the school environment in providing first aid and caring for others.
"Red cross provision from an early age is really needed, especially starting from elementary, middle school, high school and equivalent levels," he stated.
As for information, there are already 36 schools with PMR for elementary school in South Jakarta, 45 schools for junior high school, and 50 schools with PMR for senior high school.
