126 Vehicles Undergo Emission Tests in North Jakarta

Some 126 vehicles underwent free emission tests in the courtyard of the Mitra Praja Sunter Building, North Jakarta, Monday (6/10).

It aims to improve air quality in Jakarta

Seribu Islands Environment Sub-agency's Pollution and Environmental Damage Control Section Head, Sri Hayyu Alynda Heryati said the emissions test this time targeted operational service vehicles (KDO), ASN private vehicles, and those belonging to the public.

"It aims to improve air quality in Jakarta and also as part of a commemoration of World Environment Day on June 5, as well as welcoming Jakarta's 497th anniversary on June 22," she expressed, Monday (6/10).

Emission Tests at West Jakarta Mayor Office Target 200 Vehicles

She explained there were two stands for emission tests, one was for motorcycles and another was for petrol and diesel four-wheeled vehicles.

From 9 AM to 2 PM, 67 motorcycles and 59 four-wheeled vehicles were emissions tested. 31 of them failed the test.

"Those who have not passed the test must undergo routine vehicle repairs and maintenance at an official workshop integrated with Jakarta Environment Agency," she explained.

She added that this action would be intensified in six urban villages in Seribu Islands to support the Jakarta Langit Biru program or Jakarta Blue Sky.

"This is our commitment, so let's test emissions to help reduce air pollution and make Jakarta a healthy city," she added.

The emission tests received appreciation from one of the participants or Seribu Islands ASNs, Hendy Ferdian.

"Thank God, my motorcycle passed the emissions test. Hopefully, this is sustainable, because it is useful for reducing pollution due to vehicle exhaust emissions," he hoped.
